This will be a great test for our Midget Varsity Programs and a great showcase for Newbridge Academy. This is the first opportunity for our school to play Atlantic regions Major Midget Programs since becoming a Hockey Canada Sports School in April of 2016. This makes the opportunity to play in the Monctonian very special for Newbridge with another “first.”
“There is a tremendous sense of pride for our school developing here with this opportunity. We are excited for the chance to play in this tournament and very excited that Newbridge Academy continues to showcase it’s growth and competitiveness. Our season to this point has been gearing up to hopefully have a “mini-peak” of success at the Monctonian this week. We are ready and eager to get going.”
~Paddy Flynn, Director of Varsity Hockey Programs, Newbridge Academy~
As well as participating in this event, Friday evening will see some of our players take part in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League Prospects Game. We have a number of players that will have this chance to have an additional opportunity to play and showcase themselves in front of QMJHL scouts and GM’s as well as US College recruiters. Game time on Friday, November 18th is 8pm at the Moncton Superior Propane Centre.
In addition (and a great bonus) our Varsity Pee Wee 2005 Program will be en route to play in the Maritime Fall Classic Pee Wee AAA Tournament in Saint John, NB this Thursday. The team will stop at the Monctonian to watch our Varsity U16 team play its first game at the Monctonian. Should be a great night and great to have the 2005s join in with their support!
