Technology in the Classroom – Newbridge Academy
With the constantly evolving need for a dynamic and forward-thinking learning environment, Newbridge Academy has made a substantial investment in junior and senior high classroom technology that inspires teachers and students to interact with the curriculum in an unparalleled way.
Students who attend Newbridge Academy benefit from a comprehensive learning experience. The pillars of our classroom technology rest on SMART Notebook™, Epson BrightLink™ project, FrontRow™ voice amplification software and lecture capture software. Combined, this classroom technology provides innovative and exciting possibilities for modern students.
Teachers are able to display, manipulate, annotate and adapt course content using SMART Notebook™ technology and the BrightLink™ projector. Teachers then have the impressive ability to record the digital lesson and provide an audio overlay using the lecture capture software and the FrontRow™ infrared microphone. Remarkably, our educators can transfer the digital file created from that lesson and populate the content on our university level e-learning platform – Blackboard™.
With this investment, students have the ability to thoroughly prepare for tests and assessments by logging in to their Blackboard™ account. Here, they can view all previous material covered and class work taught by the teacher. They can see exactly what was taught or review class material discussed if they have missed any class time. Further to that, a student has the ability to ask questions virtually, and the teacher can record and send media files back to the student with appropriate answers.
We believe this classroom technology suite reduces student stress, increases student performance, and provides a comprehensive course resource for parents, guardians, and students to use while away from the classroom. At Newbridge Academy, we are constantly evolving and finding new pedagogy to connect with modern students.
