Newbridge Academy’s Major Midget – Pierre-Vincent Guignard
Newbridge Academy’s Major Midget team is excited to begin announcing its roster for the 2018-2019 season. With the great success of our first-ever showcase event at the beginning of May, the roster is quickly taking shape.
First up for our team is 15 year old goaltender, Pierre-Vincent Guignard from Pointe-Alexandre, New Brunswick. He has been playing goalie since the age of six and has played at the AAA level throughout his PeeWee and Bantam years in the Acadian Peninsula.
Last season, he attended Athol Murray College of Notre Dame in Wilcox, Saskatchewan and played for their Bantam Prep team. In January, PV helped the Notre Dame Hounds win the Minnesota Gone Wild Tournament. He has also represented New Brunswick on the Atlantic Challenge Cup teams at both the U14 and U15 level.
Right now he is working hard to secure a spot on the U16 team that will represent New Brunswick at he 2019 Canada Games as well at the QMJHL Gatorade Excellence Challenge. His plan is to continue his development at Newbridge Academy, working with the coaching staff and goalie coach Brad MacCharles, to help achieve this goal.
“PV is one of the top 2003 goaltenders in Atlantic Canada, and we are really fortunate to welcome him as a student-athlete here at Newbridge Academy,” said head coach Olivier Filion.
