Newbridge Academy – Quebec Major Junior Hockey League Prospects
The final prospects list was released by the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League earlier this week, and Newbridge Academy is proud to have 14 students that have made the final rankings for the QMJHL entry draft. Of those 14 students, 13 play for one of our Varsity Hockey teams.
The draft is June 2, 2018 and is being hosted at the Centre Gervais Auto in Shawinigan. Alexandre David came out as the top prospect from Newbridge landing in the first spot of the third round-37th overall, followed by Nicolas Savoie (40), Ethan Pearson (44) and Kyle Lynch (90). Brandon Casey and Jake Quillan, Tommy Rollin, Noah Adams, Alex Arsenault, Jonathan Beers, Matthew Helpard, Devon Howatt, Kurtis Lang and Jack Taylor also made the list.
This is the most Newbridge students that have made the final list in the history of our hockey program. Our school record for top draft pick was Luke Green in 2014, who was drafted first overall by the Saint John Sea Dogs.
We want to wish all of our students the best of luck at the draft!
