Newbridge Academy is pleased to announce Allison Hood to the Female Bantam Varsity Lineup
Helping secure the back end this upcoming season, Hood is a defensemen that excels at both ends of the ice. Her possession, mobility and offensive/ defensive instincts are key to the success of any team she has played on. Although small in size, Allie plays a big game and welcomes the challenge of a good battle.
“Numerous times since January of this year I have had the opportunity to see Allie play and play she does. It is nice to see a young player battle as hard as she does and advance the play as well as she does. Allie will be part of a great defence core for our bantam program, her poise will be a factor in stabilizing our team’s play. Moving into her 7th year of hockey, Allie has an impressive list of accomplishments under her belt. During her years spent as a Pictou County Select, she is a 3 time Provincial Champion and 2 time Silver medalist. Collecting other various prestigious awards, Hood also participated in the Provincial Final 10 period game, which is now known to everyone as the “Longest Game in NS History.”

Hood, named Captain and Assistant Captain of various teams over the years is a supportive and hardworking teammate. Along with her minor hockey, Allie has also played at an elite level during the Spring for the NS Raiders and Canadian Tire Selects. Most recently, she attended the Hockey NS High Performance U16 Camp in Antigonish and was named the recipient of the NS School Athletic Federation Award for Exemplary Participation in School Athletics.

With future goals to play NCAA or CIS Varsity hockey, Allie’s other passions include softball, soccer, golf and badminton. Her ability to continue with her athletics at a high level matched with her desire to become an exemplary student will make her transition to Newbridge Academy seamless.
