In his first year with Newbridge Academy, Graham joins us after working as Director of Coaching Development and Director of High Performance with Soccer Nova Scotia. He is certainly familiar with current trends and best-practices in coaching and player development – having 32-years of practical coaching experience.
Graham said that he “enjoys the relationship between academics and athletics, and focus with which Newbridge Academy places on developing well-rounded student-athletes. The staff are a friendly and high-achieving group seeking to make Newbridge Academy the most outstanding academic and athletic institution. The vision and over-arching goals of the school align closely with my personal goals and objectives for what I believe a soccer academy and school experience should be.”
We are honoured to have Graham, who also taught for 11 years, 9 of which were at Stanstead College, a private school in Quebec. He has coached at various levels, including: club youth & senior, provincial, elite player development, Canada Games, senior amateur, semi-professional, and university – all male & female. Graham has earned a National Coaching Institute Diploma, his Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education degrees from Mount Allison University, as well as his National “B” Licence coaching certification.
He works to motivate by making the players directly responsible for their experience through setting goals and then working hard and smartly to achieve them. “We develop the process, then explain and work through it together,” says Graham. “A well-organized soccer training session that challenges the players mentally & physically in a fun learning environment”.
We welcome Graham to his first year at Newbridge Academy and look forward to him working with our Soccer Program Student-Athletes, having some fun along the way!
